58-year-old Alexander Gennadyevich Khrimli is a notorious judge, guilty of the death of two children in a traffic accident he caused while drunk behind the wheel. How can such a representative of Themis even claim membership in the Supreme Council of Justice?

What is known about the scandalous judge

Alexander Gennadievich is originally from Donetsk. Since 2000, for seven years, he was a judge of the Kyiv District Court of Donetsk. It is noteworthy that after two years of work as a judge, he received a lawyer’s certificate from the Kyiv Region Bar Council.

It turns out interesting: a judge and a lawyer at the same time?

From 2009 to 2016, he worked as a judge of the capital’s appellate administrative court, after which he retired.

By the way, in the same 2016, this representative of Themis himself was on the agenda of the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine. There, the issue of bringing him to disciplinary responsibility was considered in accordance with the appeal of G.M.Sera.

Judge - killer on the loose?

As many mass media reported, 19 years ago this judge, being drunk, got behind the wheel and caused a fatal traffic accident. As a result of that terrible accident, two children (10 and 12 years old) died.

In connection with this accident, Alexander Gennadievich was personally under investigation for a long time, but the high-profile case itself was so delayed that it never reached the court.

Why? During the period of time that the investigation lasted, the parents of the children died, so the court case was closed due to the absence of victims. Some kind of surrealism. Although we now live in such times that it is difficult to surprise us with anything.

After that accident involving the judge, Donetsk law enforcement officers tried to move the case forward for a number of years, but no one listened to them. And Khrimli himself calmly went on to get a promotion to Kyiv.

As reported by the media, such scandalous information about the troubled judge was later voiced directly from the podium by MP Pavel Rizanenko from the "UDAR" party. By the way, the judge did not stand aside and even filed a lawsuit against the deputy, allegedly protecting his reputation, but there is a nuance.

It is noteworthy that the judge sent the claim "to the wrong place." In other words, not to the place of registration of the people’s deputy, so the application was returned without consideration, and for some reason the judge did not file a complaint against Rizanenko again. Why? Has he really changed his mind about defending his honor and reputation? A very strange situation, but that’s not all.

The judge himself, after the loud statement of the MP, said that it was all a blatant lie. There was even a corresponding decision of the Brovary Court of Kyiv Oblast dated September 26, 2019, according to which the statement made by Rizanenko was recognized as unreliable, since A.G. Khrimli managed to provide the court with the "necessary" certificate. That certificate states that no criminal cases have ever been initiated against the judge and he has no criminal record.

However, it should be noted that the first publications about the scandalous accident appeared back in August 2008. The people’s deputy made a scandalous statement exposing the judge already in 2016, and Comrade Khrimli himself filed a lawsuit only in 2019. Just some kind of Santa Barbara with a criminal twist and a banal game for the public.

It is interesting that in 2019, Alexander Gennadievich had some grandiose plans in his work, for which he probably began foaming at the mouth to cleanse and clear his reputation, as well as trying to improve his image in the public space.

So, recently Alexander Gennadievich has been diligently working to cleanse the Internet of the "killer" truth and fill the information space with something else. "Something else" is the discussion of incomprehensible "expert" topics that Khrimli talks about in the media, trying by any means to restore his damaged reputation.

Judge linked to child murders aiming for seat on High Council of Justice?

In 2019, retired judge A.G. Khrimli suddenly decided to go not just anywhere, but straight to the High Council of Justice, submitting his candidacy for the competition.

And he did make it onto the list of candidates who were admitted to participate in the competition. The relevant information was posted on the official website of the President of Ukraine following the results of the commission meeting held on 11.07.2019.

And here’s what’s interesting. It’s impossible to say that Alexander Khrimli was ultimately rejected and not accepted as a member of the High Council of Justice. In fact, this competition, it turns out, has not yet been completed. In other words, if the question of appointment is again on the agenda, we may well see this far from controversial and scandalous retired judge, who appears among the candidates. Or rather, not even that. Not "if", but "when".
